STATUTE of CROATIAN CHAMBER OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS

The Croatian Chamber of Mechanical Engineers is an autonomous and independent professional organization of chartered mechanical engineers, chartered mechanical construction engineers, chartered mechanical site (discipline) engineers and foreign mechanical engineering professionals legally established in the Republic of Croatia, who pursue the regulated profession of mechanical engineering in the capacity of a responsible person, in accordance with special regulations governing the performance of activities in the field of physical planning and construction and the recognition of foreign professional qualifications.

The Chamber is a legal person under public law, with rights, obligations and responsibilities stipulated in the Act on the Chamber of Architects and Chambers of Engineers in Construction and Physical Planning (hereinafter the "Act"), in other special laws governing the performance of activities in the field of physical planning and construction and the recognition of foreign qualifications, and in the Chamber Statute.

Under the Act, membership in the Chamber is mandatory.

The members of the Chamber are chartered mechanical engineers, chartered mechanical construction engineers, chartered mechanical site (discipline) engineers and foreign mechanical engineering professionals legally established in the Republic of Croatia who, in accordance with special regulations, pursue the regulated profession of mechanical engineering in the activities of design engineering and/or construction supervision, and in construction.

The Chamber membership is granted upon being entered in the Chamber Directory in accordance with the conditions prescribed by the Act, special laws governing the activity of physical planning and construction and the Statute.

The following are entered in the Chamber directories, registers and records: nationals of the Republic of Croatia, nationals of the states of European Economic Area (hereinafter "EEA") and third-country nationals, in accordance with the conditions prescribed by a special law governing recognition of foreign professional qualifications.

The work of the Chamber is the public.

The Chamber exercises certain public authority powers laid down by the Act.
